QLogic’s QuickSilver Fabric Software Suite is a comprehensive data transport and fabric management solution designed to support the most demanding cluster aware application environments. The QuickSilver Suite includes a full set of both proprietary and open source fabric management and configuration utilities, drivers, upper layer protocols (ULP), application interfaces, and cluster performance tuning tools. QuickSilver also includes built-in intelligence to enable rapid error-free installation and provisioning of small to extremely large clusters with thousands of host nodes.

The QuickSilver architecture is made up of three separate software modules that are designed to work individually or in concert in the same fabric. Major components of the QuickSilver architecture include:

QuickSilver Fabric Access - The QuickSilver Fabric Access provides a robust set of proprietary and OpenIB host-based application interfaces and upper layer protocols (ULPs) for support of Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows, and Mac OS environments. It includes QLogic’s RAC Accelerator reliable datagram service (RDS) based protocol for unparalleled cluster performance in Oracle RAC 10g application environments.

QuickSilver OS – The QuickSilver OS contains a set of embedded functions for chassis management and configuration, including:

• subnet management
• HTML and Java-based console fabric interface and component level performance monitoring and management
• management of advanced features, such as QLogic’s Fibre Channel and Ethernet Virtual Interface Controllers (VIC)

QuickSilver FastFabric Toolset – The QuickSilver FastFabric Toolset is a set of fabric tools and utilities that aid in the installation, turn-up, management, and scale-out of the fabric.
