Oracle Announces General Availability of QLogic RDS

Co-developed by Oracle and QLogic, RDS provides a high bandwidth, low latency, ultra reliable inter-process communication (IPC) protocol and transport system that dramatically speeds up IPC communication between servers in a RAC cluster, delivering a cost effective, highly available and scalable database solution. In beta testing, QLogic RDS over InfiniBand provided up to 60% performance improvement over Gigabit Ethernet for interconnect-intensive applications. RDS has been rigorously tested by Oracle to meet the stringent performance and availability requirements of their most demanding enterprise customers. Today, Oracle customers like Kelly Services and JDA Software Group are deploying Oracle RAC 10g and QLogic RDS to achieve new levels of database performance, availability, and scalability, while dramatically reducing their total cost of ownership.
